NASA’s MESSENGER is now orbiting Mercury, after burning its engines Thursday night. After more than a dozen laps through the inner solar system since launching in 2004, MESSENGER is the first spacecraft to orbit its innermost planet.

美國「信使」號探測器開始環繞水星飛行，這是人類探測器首次成功進入水星軌道。
水星是最接近太陽的行星，因此「信使」號的外殼由抗熱的特殊瓷製造，以抵禦高達4000攝氏度的高溫。
探測器會對水星表面拍攝首批完整的圖像，並收集關於水星地表的信息。
